All Regions of Thailand Open to Fully Vaccinated Travelers from 1 November 2021, Quarantine-Free

thailand travel post covid

As of 1 February, 2022, the Royal Thai Government is allowing travelers who are fully vaccinated against the Covid-19 virus to visit any part of the kingdom without needing to quarantine upon their arrival, through the ‘Test and Go’ program.

Unlike the ‘Phuket sandbox’ program, where foreign nationals from low- and medium-risk countries were able to obtain a certificate of entry (COE) to Phuket without needing to quarantine, the kingdom is now allowing travelers from any country around the world to visit any part of the country quarantine-free when arriving by air travel.

Travelers must obtain a Thailand Pass instead of the previously required COE.

Applications for the Thailand Pass need to be submitted at least seven days prior to the travel date at https://tp.consular.go.th/

The required documents for travelers wishing to enter Thailand (before arrival) include:

  1. A certificate of (full) vaccination against Covid-19 with an approved vaccine, no less than 14 days before their travel date. Those infected within the prior three months must have received one dose of an approved vaccine at least 14 days before travel and a medical certificate of recovery. Travelers under 12 years who are accompanied by their parents are exempt from the vaccination certificate requirement.
  2. A medical certificate with a laboratory result obtained through the RT-PCR method indicating the traveler’s Covid-19 negative status no more than 72 hours before their travel date. Travelers under 6 years who are accompanied by their parents are exempt from the medical certificate requirement.
  3. A copy of the payment confirmation for two RT-PCR tests and a one-night’s stay at an approved hotel on both day 1 and day 5.
  4. A copy of an insurance policy with coverage of at least USD 50,000.

The requirements for entry are subject to change, so prospective travelers are encouraged to regularly check the Tourism Authority’s website for any updates at https://www.tatnews.org/

FAQs about the Thailand Pass may be reviewed on the Department of Consular Affairs website at https://consular.mfa.go.th/th/content/thailand-pass-faqs-2

Please note that Elite members are required to provide a copy of their Thailand Pass and flight details to the Member Contact Centre (at memberservice@thailandelite.com) no less than 24 hours prior to their international flight’s arrival time for an Elite Personal Assistant to be assigned to meet the member upon their arrival at the airport.

As of 1 December 2021, the visa affix service available at Suvarnabhumi Airport will resume. Elite members may therefore request for the Elite visa to be affixed to their passport upon their arrival at the airport (on an international flight) by providing their flight details to the Member Contact Centre with a minimum of five working days’ notice.
